Arduino Compatible Compiler for LabVIEW Update

Hello Fellow Arduino and LabVIEW Enthusiasts!

As we get closer to releasing the first version of the Arduino compiler for LabVIEW, we would like to ask for your help. In the interest of best aligning the product with the needs of the community, we created a very short survey to collect the thoughts of the early adopters. It should take you less than 5 minutes to complete the survey, but your answers will be a tremendous help! It will help us focus on what is important to the community and allow us to deliver a product that gets as close as possible to what is important to the user base. We appreciate it and thank you for your willingness to be part of the release process.

Here it is the link to the survey. We would like to have your feedback by 1/31/2015.

  • Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to take part of the survey, but I would also like to be a beta-tester for your Arduino compatible compiler for LabVIEW. Currently, I work intensively with Arduino based hardware as for my second PocketQube- satellite project. I have already successfully injected a DIY- Satellite into space on the 23rd November 2013 aboard a Russian DNEPR-1 Rocket. The Satellite named β€œWREN” was completely consisting of custom maid subsystems that were designed on the basis of ATmel 328 for the flight computer and an RFM12b based Transceiver module. It had its own attitude control and four pulsed plasma thruster engines. The Satellite survived almost six month into the harsh space environment. Here is a TV-Report that had been sent all over Europe about that project (unfortunately in German and French only):

This is my YouTube- channel about both space projects: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVkXokFYH5EzFloXow_K8rg

With my next Satellite project, I develop a PocketQube- satellite consisting only of buyable open source hardware, ready to use. No more custom made PCB’s and parts, all buyable modules that can be “plugged together”, so that the satellite could be build by every one, even kids. For that purpose, I adopted the Arduino approach for the flight computer, and different breakout-shields for sensing, actuating and communication that can be retrieved from the market at for example Sparkfun, Adafruit, Watherott, Frizing, Modtronic and the like.

To keep things short: The ground control of the Satellites has been fully developed in LabVIEW, so why not the Firmware of the Satellite itself by the use of your compiler? πŸ™‚

If I was able to wake your interest, I would be very pleased to hear from you soon and hope I could become a beta tester and get a free copy of your compiler.

    Yours truly.
    Dipl-Ing. Sacha J. Tholl

      Hi There,

Feel free to fill out the survey. At this time we will most likely not have a formal beta program. We believe we have a substantial test plan in place that will allow us to get to a first release very soon. Since we will offer a 30-Day free trial, you are more than welcome to download it and trial it for 30 days risk free once it is released. Bear in mind that this will have limited functionality and will be a subset of LabVIEW primitive functionality and datatypes. Currently most datatypes are supported (like integer, floating point, boolean, string and 1D arrays) but 2D arrays and clusters will not be supported at this time. Stay tuned for a user manual with details features.
